| Summary: | The 5GSDN project addresses the cross-layer design of 5G (fifth generation) industrial cyber-physical wireless networks. The objective is to support machine-type traffic with real-time, high data-rate, and ultra-low latency requirements. This will enable a set of remotely controlled embedded applications in industrial IoT (Internet-of-Things) with high criticality requirements. New industrial services will be offered over wider geographical areas at lower costs and with more flexible infrastructure. This will boost economic development in our society. This project deals with the management of new PHY (physical) layer technologies for 5G towards the support of industrial cyber-physical applications. Two applications will be explicitly used for helping in the design: autonomous vehicle driving and vehicle structure health monitoring/control. |
