The institute ifak, department communication systems, deals mainly with industrial communication systems since founding. Specific experiences of the department are in the formal description and implementation of protocol functions as well as network management features. The department of communication systems has experience in the usage of wireless technologies for fieldbus systems acquired in national projects together with other project partners. Ifak will contribute in all WPs that are related to the specification and implementation of system and network management functions as well as to the integration of advanced wireless physical layer in the fieldbus protocol architecture. In addition ifak will contribute to the standardization of the proposed wireless fieldbus solution based on the experiences in national and international fieldbus standardization projects.
Ifak plays the role of the co-ordinator and is responsible for workpacke WP4 - System Management.
