DP Applications The picture below depicts the DP Applications and the existing PROFIBUS connections between them.
The SCADA application acts as a master for the several slaves. At system initialisation time the master (PC1) is responsible for correctly configure all the Slaves in the system and initiate the appropriate cyclic data transfers in a timely manner.
The DP Slave applications use a hardware specific API to access the data exchanged with the Master PC (PC1) and process it in a timely manner. At system initialisation time the DP Slave applications are responsible for correctly configure the Slave bus parameters, in a coherent manner with the parameters in the Master. This procedure is essential for the data exchange between the Master and the diferent Slaves (including TCP/IP data).
